Loves, Mariessa: Mariessa is an independent Fashion Designer from Austin, Texas. Raised in Atlanta, GA and started designing clothes at the age of 15. Inspired by her mother to always pursue her dreams, she starting designing her own clothes in high school. Her mother, being a brilliant seamstress, taught her how to bring them to life. She attended Bauder Collage in Atlanta and was schooled the technicalities of the fashion industry. She has been diligently producing her own line for the last 5 years. She has done fashion productions in Georgia, California, and many here in Austin, Texas. She creates unique, yet classy, attire for men and women, and has done a great deal of costume/custom piece work. Her style is very individual, with each creation unrepeated. The defining characteristic of her work would be "pragmatism". She is a large supporter for local artistry, and spends a great deal of time working with others in the creative industry. She is the official fashion designer for the massiveblack.com and conceptart.org art community, is one of the main Fashion Design Supporters for the Longhorn Model Fashion Show '09, and has been a big part of the local Austin Fashion Community for the past 3 years. |
